Description
A water feature at the Stetson Mansion in Deland, Florida.
The Stetson Mansion is Florida's first luxury home and the grandest home ever built in Florida during the 19th century! Built in 1886 by famed hat maker and philanthropist John B. Stetson, his winter retreat was the only "Gilded Age" estate built in Florida. The Stetsons were known for hosting magnificent parties and gatherings for local townsfolk and some of the most elite and influential citizens of our country's "most prosperous era." Henry Flagler built a private railway spur to the Stetson estate so the finest "art" in architectural building materials could be delivered on site. Even if the house was empty the details are captivating.

A divine find and capture Laurie! I enjoy garden art and statuary. I like how this water fountain is being partially hidden by vines. L&F

We welcome this lovely and historic find to The 200 Club, a "rising star" group in which only a select few are featured. It is my pleasure to feature desirable art work like this. Congratulations on your well-deserved feature in our high activity group and elsewhere and on your hundreds of views.
